Victor Wu is a highly accomplished mining expert with a PhD in Minerals, Rock, and Ore Deposit from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. With over a decade of experience in mining operations, he has successfully led large-scale projects across China and internationally. As COO of Overseas Operations at Zijin Mining, he oversees global projects, driving profitability, cost efficiency, and community engagement.   

During his tenure at Rosebel Gold Mines in Suriname, Mr. Wu transformed the operation within a year, increasing production and reducing costs by over 20%. He integrated Zijin’s management philosophy while maintaining high local employment rates, with 98% of the workforce from Suriname. His leadership in labour negotiations secured long-term stability without major disruptions.  

At Aurora Gold Mine in Guyana, he spearheaded a rapid turnaround, doubling gold production within a year and initiating underground mining expansion. He also advanced exploration efforts, positioning Zijin for further growth in South America. His commitment to operational excellence and community relations helped prevent strikes and maintain a productive workforce.
