Kamoa Copper SA had the honour of hosting, on Thursday, 21 November 2024, the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development of Zambia, Engineer Charles Milupi, as well as Her Excellency the Governor of Lualaba, Mrs. Fifi Masuka Saini, accompanied by the Provincial Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Moise Mukepe Kahilu, and a delegation of Congolese and Zambian officials, for a site visit.
This visit follows the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo concerning the construction of the Kolwezi-Lumwana road (145 kilometres).
Their Excellencies included Kamoa Copper in their itinerary to meet with the company’s leadership and observe the development of infrastructure due to Kamoa’s prominent role as an exporter.
During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to explore the Kakula underground mine, visit the Phase 3 infrastructure, the Kansoko training centre, and community projects. This allowed the participants to witness the significant impact of our operations at the local, national, and sub-regional levels.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Governor of Lualaba expressed her pride in Kamoa Copper’s achievements, describing it as a true model of excellence and development for Lualaba and the DRC.
