With over 30 years in the mining and engineering sectors, Jan Hough serves as Executive of Engineering at Kamoa. Jan’s career began in 1991 as a Learner Official with JCI Services, followed by a 16-year tenure at Anglo Platinum where he advanced from Learner Official to Managing Engineer, overseeing key mining sections and refining his expertise in mining engineering. In 2011, he joined Tharisa Minerals and quickly rose to the role of General Manager, demonstrating his leadership in mining operations. Jan joined Kamoa Copper in 2021, bringing his extensive knowledge to the company’s engineering division.

Jan holds a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from South Africa and has completed several additional courses to strengthen his technical and managerial skills. His dedication to continuous learning has equipped him with the comprehensive engineering expertise necessary for leading large-scale mining operations.

As Executive, Engineering, Jan oversees the engineering functions at Kamoa Copper, ensuring operational efficiency and maintaining exacting standards of safety and innovation.
