Fishponds

The fishpond project, which was launched in 2018, aims at cultivating aquaculture skills in local communities, enhancing nutrition and generating income for households.

Currently, 41 beneficiaries own the 318 fishponds in use, consisting of 39 males and two females. Several tonnes of tilapia fish is harvested and sold to the mine, it’s contractors and to the population in the neighbouring Kolwezi town.
