Peter Reavy, Executive of Projects at Kamoa Copper, brings over 20 years of experience in project development and execution within the mining and petrochemical industries. With a broad expertise in all phases of project development—from scoping studies and feasibility to execution and commissioning—Peter has worked on a variety of greenfield and brownfield projects across Africa. His project experience spans multiple countries, including South Africa, Namibia, DRC, Zambia, Mali, Mozambique, and Nigeria, in commodities such as copper, cobalt, gold, PGMs, uranium, graphite, and rare earth elements.

Peter has a strong academic background, complemented by practical experience in project management and execution. His comprehensive understanding of both mining and petrochemical projects has enabled him to successfully navigate the complexities of large-scale, cross-border projects in diverse and challenging environments.

Peter joined Kamoa Copper in 2017 as Project Manager, where he played a pivotal role in managing the preliminary economic assessments, prefeasibility studies, and overseeing the design, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the Phase 1 and Phase 2 concentrators at the Kakula project. He also led the Kakula debottlenecking project, which significantly increased the capacity of the Kakula complex to 9.2Mtpa. In 2023, Peter was promoted to Executive, Projects, where he is responsible for the successful delivery of all projects at Kamoa and Kakula Mines, providing strategic support and leadership for the company’s broader goals.

Peter’s leadership in project management is driven by a strong commitment to ensuring sustainable and efficient project delivery, with a focus on minimising environmental impact, maximising resource utilisation, and fostering positive relationships with local communities. His projects at Kamoa Copper aim to create long-term value while aligning with the company’s broader social and environmental objectives.
