Community and employee skills development and education

Kansoko Community Training
Kamoa Copper SA Copper nurtures the community by addressing historical low literacy levels through extensive training and education initiatives. Our programs aim to uplift individuals, providing skills for employment at Kamoa Copper SA Copper, or establishing successful local businesses.
Kamoa Copper SA Copper supports the community agricultural projects, which include maize farming, fish farming and vegetable farming as well as the poultry farming with training initiatives in farming practiced.

Kansoko Mining Skills Training Centre
Deeply rooted in our surrounding communities, we invest in skills development through the Kansoko Training Centre, a world-class mining training centre. This initiative empowers Congolese employees with mining, concentrator, and smelter skills as well as engineering maintenance skills, cultivating a local, qualified workforce.

With a commitment to nurturing talent, we envision these individuals evolving into future managers and leaders, contributing to both the local economy, and reducing unemployment rates.
Emphasising inclusivity, Kamoa Copper SA Copper actively supports the growth of women in mining, striving to increase the number of trained Congolese women in active underground mining roles.
In 2023, we offered 150 core-to-mining and 552 non-core-to-mining training opportunities, focusing on agriculture and textiles at the Kansoko Training Centre, and 283 adult literacy beneficiaries.
